On October 8th, 2008, La Route verte, which was developed by Vélo Québec Association received the World Leisure Innovation Prize. Mrs. Suzanne Lareau, President and General Manager of Vélo Québec, and Mr. Jean-François Pronovost, General Manager of Vélo Québec Association received their award from the hands of Mr. Derek Casey, President of the World Leisure Organization.

One of the most important leisure trade shows in the world opened its doors to delegates on October 8th during the World Leisure Congress Québec 2008. Reuniting over 164 exhibitors from all sectors of activity such as equipment, games, tourism, sports, leisure, safety and animation, this trade show has been instrumental in establishing preferential contacts between workers in the field of leisure and suppliers of products and services in leisure.
